(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello all, I am looking to hack, jailbreak, or whatever is necessary to use CEX cheats. I am very new to all this but I am tech savvy so I can try to figure things out. I searched around a little and could not find anything, but is there a guide or anything around here to follow about jailbreaking PS3.

Thanks,

There is a lot that needs to be done; first you need to know which type of exploit you want, whether it's an ODE based modification that will allow you to play ISO's from an external device or if you are looking to have a fully jailbroken PS3

1.) what type of PS3 do you have? Google search PS3 downgrade compatibility chart and make sure your PS3 can be downgraded to an exploitable firmware (3.55)
2.) You will need a hardware flasher such as the E3 Flasher kit (Google it) in order to downgrade your NAND to the lowest firmware (again, 3.55)
3.) Once you have the equipment, be sure that you run through ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS. There are some really good tutorials here on NGU, just take a quick search through it all

It's a very involved process, but thankfully with the E3 Flasher, you don't have to do any soldering (unless you mess up pretty bad) If you have any more questions, I have done some PS3 downgrading so I could point you in the right direction Smile

Just correcting you by saying the E3 flasher is for NOR models only and not NAND as you stated. Winky Winky

!! Oops, my mistake... Sorry, it was a long day for me :P Haven't fired up the flasher in a little while so I was grasping at the first thoughts in the back of my head. Thanks for the correction!

Thanks for all the help, I have determined I do have a PS3 the can be downgraded(YAY!). Now is it cheaper to have someone else downgrade for you, or just do it your self.
