My dumps are good and from what I understand my ps3 is compatible with a downgrade and its nor. im using an e3 flasher and used this tutorial: from this site as long as a few others. like I said my dumps are fine and my ps3 goes through with the patched bin but upon reboot from there gives me the error screen to plug in controller via usb and from there says console cannot work properly must hit start n select at same time and update to 4.55 or later. then I backup my ps3 using my good dump then have to do a full system restore to get back to my starting point. ive also tried the e3_downgrader.bin method but no luck. Can anybody pls help me?

You might have used a different flash tool to patch up the bkpps3.bin and that is why it gives you that error. But, no worries!!! If you have updated the ps3 with OFW, just reflash the patched up bkpps3.bin.

Afterwards, go into safe/recovery mode and install

Rogero 3.55 downgrader: You must login or register to view this content.

then QA flag the ps3: You must login or register to view this content.

and then install Rogero 3.55 v3.7 in safe/recovery mode: You must login or register to view this content.

and last install any CFW you like bro

to be honest this is my first time doing this. I am a noob hence the reason I used the Dummies guide to jailbreaking from this site as well lol.. but im sure that my steps are ok. I will gladly do what u said but I don't really understand what ur tellin me. see I tried to install the 4.55 ofw from that error screen but it searched for the update n never found it via usb device. I even put it in PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP. so I had to do the backup.bin. are you saying to patch up my previously patched backup bin, run it and when I get that error screen again just reboot into recovery mode and just install the rogero downgrader then so on?

well, what I am doing is downgrading the ps3
basically patching the bkpps3.bin to allow installation of CFW and reflashing it back to the NOR chip.

I do not know what im doing wrong but now im doing a slim and same error except it says 4.53 or higher and this time it cant find the update from the safe mode screen.. im sorry guys

Check if the flash drive is FAT32
Check if the folder structure is correct: USB\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP
All make sure you are using Rogero 3.55 downgrader
also, I hope you reflashed the patched up bkpps3.bin!

i realized what I was doing wrong both times. I just caught on to what u was saying about using the wrong flash the first time. I didn't realize that there is a different auto patcher for different firmware versions. the first time I was using I believe the one in the video's description yet was running 4.55. next I was using the same one for 4.53. and thet don't work out. but downloaded a 4.53 auto patcher and Boom. perfect and easy. In these tutorials they really need to stress the importance of this for noobs like myself cause that is a very easy mistake to make. thank you for all your help very much. yall keep up the fantastic work here at NGU and hopefully ill be good enough to join yalls group soon
