Post: Disabling HDCP via debug settings?
04-27-2014, 01:36 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I saw the feature today, not sure why i never noticed it.

But it won't switch off, I looked on google for a way, and came up with a video saying something with editing the settings from target manager.

I tried, and it still did not work.

Is it my firmware?

I'm on 4.50 PS3Ita.

I really wanna disable this shit so i dont have to switch back and fourth between component and HDMI.

because when im on component it's not as clear as HDMI is.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I just messed with it. Changing directly from Debug Settings doesn't work. What I did was:
1. Connected with TM
2. Right clicked PS3 > Properties
3. Went to XMB settings in the left list view
4. Checked the Override XMB settings checkbox, then went down and turned HDCP off. Clicked the Reset Target and Apply button
5. Waited for TM to connect again, then reset my PS3 into System Software Mode

After I did all of that the option is now turned off. I haven't tried using my Roxio HD yet to see if it really works.

The following 2 users say thank you to Tustin for this useful post:

Have you tried doing it from the console?
On the XMB go to settings then at the very bottom you should see Debug Settings look for HDCP and turn it off.
