You need to downgrade you ps3 to 3.55 (YOU NEED A FLASHER WHICH REQUIRES MONEY AND TIME)
The amount of threads opened for this question has increased. This morning I saw 3 and now there is more than 5 or 7.
Look if you wan't to jailbreak your ps3, you will need some kind of flasher and all depends on you ps3 model.
some ps3 can't be jailbroken and some can. Here is a link that will tell you if you ps3 can or can't. (Just look at the model of your ps3 in the back)

The ones with the downgradeable min over 3.55 is not going to work for jailbreaking (there are some ps3 who can be jailbroken over 3.55... Just look around on the wiki and it will tell you how to find out if your can.)
If you have a ps3, you will have a change of having a nand ps3 which makes it a bet more difficult for you to jailbreak it because you will need a special kind of flasher but if it is a nor you can use the E3 Flasher to downgrade to 3.55 and jailbreak.
One more thing. If you even get a flasher, in specific a E3 Flasher, I have a lot of experience with the device so I can help you or walk you through the installation and downgrading.
