Also cex or dex? Im hoping to rte black ops 2 and play back ups,

Is the idea of a console ban likely? And if so how do i go about getting around it?

Hello Welcome to PS3 Modding community. I recommend you using REBUG 4.46.1 rex, It is easy and simple. Make sure you have CEX and CCAPI 2.5 installed. There is always a risk of ban when modding a game but that differs from game to game.

Games That ban on CID (the ones i know) are :
1)GTA V
2)Call of Duty : GHOSTS

Blackops just bans the account from bo2 and send info to psn and soon your account is banned from psn, won't be a problem since you can create another account. Hope I helped you

Forgot to mention something. DEX is useful for getting offsets since there is ProDG however there is CCAPI debugger, DEX is very useful for RTE modmenu's because they are laggy on CEX. And to play backup-games install a package called MULTIMAN you will find it easily.Hope everything goes well with you .

Dex would be better for modding. Before you move from 3.55 dump your EID root key.

This can only be done on 3.55 EID pkg You must login or register to view this content.

If you don't feel like dex'in your new console & want to stay on cex you should still dump your root key for future use.

well if you are a beginner i don't advise you to go to dex :p, yes you can install anygame you wish since its available as a torrnet or in PSNSTUFF.

You can rip games from disc & save to external or internal hdd.

I'd say to get a external hdd as games are quite big.
Ghosts is about 11gb & games like GTA V are 17gb some games are 30gb+ so take up alot of space

To help prevent bans run PSN Patch to delete cfw sys calls,never run home brew while logged into psn,never sync trophies, disable auto login of account to psn
