People keep telling me that Rebug DEX don't need a spoofer. I got my ps3 from my brother who is currently not in country. I see that he has a 4.55 spoof on his rebug from ZOFMOD.

If it is tru, than why he has a spoofer on and why is PSN asking me to update?

How I remove the spoofer and how I get online without spoofer for my Rebug 4.46 DEX.

if you are on rebug d-rex then you don't need a spoofer but if you are on rebug rex but on dex you need a spoofer

I am 100% sure that I am on DEX because I have to use PS3ITA manager to restore console ID before I go online but why is it asking for update than? and why there is a 4.55 spoofer for zofmod on it? I am honestly asking this question because this ps3 belongs to my brother and he is currently deployed so I cant ask him how to make it work.

well you can be on dex for both Rebug rex and rebug d-rex but the rex needs a spoofer

How do I change rex to drex? also shall I removed 4.55 spoofer before I go to drex?

You need to download the D-REX firmware from rebug team, if you use rebug toolbox and look at system info it will tell you if your dex or cex. if psn is telling you to update your probably on cex

you don't need to be on PS3ita or DEX to use a backup manager...........

I understand what you mean. All you need to do is verify that you are on Dex by going in to Rebug Toolbox > System information. You can be on Rex even while being on D-Rex. When you need to restore console id using PS3ITA manager, you are on DEX CFW but it may not be enabeled through Rebug Toolbox. Don't freak out... Also if you don't want to mess with all this, just uninstall ZOFMOD's spoofer and just install HiJam's spoofer from youtube link below.

You can change your EID0 to DEX without swapping to DEX LV2 and the PS3 will still boot just fine...before you do anything check, when you go into Rebug Toolbox-->System Information does it tell you that you have CEX or DEX LV2? If it says CEX just scroll right to CEX/DEX and select Swap LV2 Kernel. This will swap the CEX LV2 to DEX and will allow you to go online without any spoofers...stay safe and don't get banned
