yes 2.50 works with 4.55 cfws and since is supports dex/cex you should be good!

CCAPI works but if you install it you can't use system manager anymore.

Yes, and I see why you want to use CCAPI now.

I'm on 4.50ita and whenever I get the chance I use CCAPI because it's wireless and doesn't require an EBOOT.
^ Great advantage.

I can do without system manager, I use console manager to put my cid and control fan utility for my fan speed anyways
