Post: Multiman thinks I'm on a different firmware then I am? + other concerns

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've encountered some problems recently and I have some questions if you guys wouldn't mind helping me out. My story goes as follows...

The ps3 I bought recently was on 3.55 Hermes cfw, but I changed it to 3.55.4 Rebug.

I wanted to update to a newer cfw but I thought I should QA toggle first.
The thing is, I don't have an official Sony controller so I can't QA toggle with the normal QA toggle pkg.

I installed Rebug Toolbox to QA flag my machine that way, but when I tried to run the package, all I got was a blank screen and I had to cut the power to my ps3 which was concerning to say the least. (I verified the md5)

I turned my ps3 back on, launched Multiman and went to the system settings. It still thinks I'm on Hermes 3.55 even though my system is clearly on Rebug. My version of mM is 4.08.01.

Do you think updating mM will solve my predicament? I know that certain updates of multiman only work with certain firmwares, so if I just use multiman's built in tool, do you think I'll be able to update to the latest compatible version of multiman?
