When ever i try to install a update it gives me the error code 8002f169 and also says No available update must install update over 3.40. If anyone can help it be great ive tried alot of ways but they all just give me the same error. Thanks!

Install 3.55 OFW from Recovery Menu bro. Then from there you can go to a 3.55 cfw of your choice using the System Update from XMB. If have any other questions feel free to PM me bro.

The "No applicable update is available." error means that the PS3 can't find the 3.55 OFW on your flash drive.

Some solutions:
1. Make sure the flash drive is formatted to FAT32 and the folder structure is correct (PS3 > UPDATE > PS3UPDAT.PUP).
2. Enable showing extensions on your computer, sometimes the file is named to PS3UPDAT.PUP.PUP by mistake.
3. Put the USB/Flash on the right slot of the PS3.

I've had this problem before with Rogero's 4.55cfw when I was downgrading to flash over to DEX. I found my solution in the method posted by Libra7y. But when I got into Rogero's 3.55 downgrader my console was stuck in a 999 syscon. That meant that I had to use Rebug's 999 downgrader then I could install 3.55ofw/kmeaw cfw
