This is not possible when you are on the newest update from sony you must be on 3.55 you can downgrade your ps3 with a E3 flasher or just buy one on 3.55

You need a PS3 on 3.55 firmware. If you do not understand what this means then don't bother trying to install CFW. You can't install custom firmware above 3.55 Official Firmware and you can't downgrade without an E3 Flasher or Progskeet. No matter who says, what video you watched, or how legit looking it is you can't do it. Those videos can contain:

-Links to surveys: They make you complete a survey to get a fake jailbreak download The uploader puts the links on survey websites because they earn money for each survey compleation.

-Links to Kiosk Firmware: Kiosk firmware is NOT a Jailbreak. It is firmware that is used for walmart for the PS3's on display but people use it to bypass on MW2.

-Fake Jailbreaks: I have seen fake jailbreaks that install but don't work. All they do is modified the license agreement and firmware version.

-TransAMGrafx firmware: This firmware Does NOT have install Package files! The video looks somewhat legit but for all we know hes already on CFW with a spoofer. All He does is modified the license agreement and firmware version. My friend says it installs but it don't come with package files! They make you pay for premium to the site and not for the Jailbreak to avoid getting sued for a product that does not work.

Bottom line, you're going to have to downgrade or buy an already downgraded/jailbroken console.

In order to downgrade your console, you will first need to check your system model. Make this the first thing you do before going out to buy any of the Downgrading Hardware such as an E3 Flasher. If your system is compatible for downgrading, then you must follow the instructions to successfully downgrade your system. Once that's done, from 3.55 OFW you are free to install any Custom Firmware of your choice. Be sure to make sure that your desired firmware has a current 4.60 Spoof if you'd like to go online with your Custom Firmware.

If you plan on buying a console with everything already done for you, buy from a trustworthy seller and make sure you get all the specs before purchasing your item. Not only that but make sure you have a general understanding of what Custom Firmware is all about and what it does as far as feature wise and what kind of responsibility you need. Install all the pkg's you need to help out with your modding and stay undetected using PSN Patch. Ask the seller if the OG Console ID has been banned. You want it to not be banned. If it is, tell the seller to include a private Console ID for your online modding.

Overall, it's very simple and takes a short amount of time to catch the drift or basics of modifying games using the Custom Firmware PS3 Console. Just takes your time and effort. Hope this helps.

I recommend using a downgrade service on eBay if you're not so tech savvy.

Not really that hard to be honest. All you have to do is follow tutorials and instructions step by step and you'll have it. I had to lear nthat the hard way when I tried to downgrade the first time without knowing anything. Smile

That's the best solution if you feel like you're up to it. Service shops online may be able to downgrade your console professionally and quickly but could also snag your CID for a quick buck..
