(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I'm downgrading a ps3 never had this problem before, I was putting the flashed back up and once the blue lights started alternating I forgot I had to re set the e3 then turn the ps3 off, so when I saw the lights alternating I just turned the ps3 off, I couldn't get the ps3 to be seen on my computer I kept turning it off and on and I finally tried connecting the hdmi and if worked but it had rsod, so I turned it off a couple times more and then it booted to the XMB and it still had 4.55 FW so I turned it off to go to recovery mode and the system update says I can only install 4.55 or later FW so I put 4.60 ofw and when I press start and score at the same time it just says "Checking... Please wait" and nothing happens. I tried turning it off and back on but it now boots straight to recovery mode on the system update option but I keep getting " checking please wait " also I have a couple valid dumps so if there's any way to fix this with only a good dumps I have them I just don't know how to fix this.

This happened to me as well right after I got the rsod. You need to reformat your ps3's hard drive in order to fix it. It will wipe all of your data off like it did mine so if you don't have your save data backed up your screwed. But, your ps3 will accept the update once the hard drive is reformatted. I had to buy a 2.0 sata station in order to fix my rsod, and I got it because of a spoof that wasn't compatible with rebug when I first jailbroke my ps3. I was such a noob back then lmao, but it was a good learning experience and I haven't had that problem sinceSmile Reformat your ps3's hard drive and I guarantee that it will take the update without giving you an errorWinky Winky

Actually it wasn't. On ribbon cable wasn't put back in correctly :P but once I placed everything correctly I was able to update to 4.60 and start over. Now I'm done it's on CFW and flashed it to DEX it's on 4.50 ITA. Customer already came
to pick up his ps3. Thank god everything went good after placing the drive back in correctly

Damn that sucks but I fixed it with out deleting anything my
customer had on it. I'm just glad I fixed it because I was about to give him money so he can buy another ps3 since it was my responsibility :p

How did you fix the problem? And I didn't mind because I too saved money and didn't have to buy a new ps3.

Toke the disc drive out and plugged it back in made sure the ribbon cables where correctly back on the motherboard, then I simply turned it back on and it updated with out a problem. Smile
