I got an ethernet cable connected from my PS3 to my Laptop.
but it wont connect wired.
It says timed out when getting IP address

The way i have it setup on mine is i have the Ps3 connected to the router via ethernet. Then i have my pc connected to the router via ethernet. This way for me works perfectly. And i think if you are using a laptop then you can just connect the laptop via wifi and the ps3 via ethernet to your router.
