My question is this:
I have Black Ops 2 digitally installed on my PS3 from a PSN account which I do not have access to anymore so if I lose it I won't be able to redownload it.. So if I downgrade and then jailbreak my PS3, will I lose the BO2 installation and then I'll have to pirate it? Or does it let you keep the game itself downloaded.

Downgrading/Upgrading to CFW does not require you to do a format? o_o or does it? If it does then yeah, you will lose whatever you have on your hdd. But either way, you can't do much on Black Ops 2 as it has a tendency to dish out server/account bans quite often, unless you get lucky with the anti-bans etc.

I'm not sure, this is my first time that's why I'm asking.
My friend uses anti ban, PSNinja, has a lengthy supply of private CIDs that he spoofs and hasn't been banned since he's jailbroken his. So I have my fingers crossed, but he's willing to share some with me anyway so I don't mind getting banned.

You won't be able to use an EBOOT if you use your digital version of the game. I recommend downloading a backup for the game and playing it off that. But downgrading won't mess up any of your data as long as you don't mess it up and your ps3 is old enough.

And I believe you could only back up the game save data (like for campaign) correct? Not the game data itself?

It's not supposed to regardless. Unless you completely mess it up while you're messing with the E3.

So to be clear, assuming I do everything right (Just downgrade to 3.55, and download a CFW) my PSN downloaded games should still be saved on the hdd?

Yep, your ps3 will be exactly as it was before the downgrade. Aside from the PS3_HOME & Install Package File options of course.

No, on a cfw you can back up the whole game from a disc and run it off that. Or you could download someone else's backup of their disc. You need to look into Multiman a bit. If your friend is a good guy he will help you.
