So it started to install and failed on 40% now its looping on the update so what do I do now soldier a wire from tristate to ground then flash my bios bk its a slim Cech 2003b 250gig

Have you re connected the optical disc drive back up?

Some downgrades require drive to be installed or you will get errors/update loop.

When ps3 gets to the point that it failed the update & is going to restart, turn it off & re install drive

If you have drive installed recheck that its connected properly.

Dose the drive work? If the drive is faulty,not reading disks..this can make a update fail.

The drive was disconnected mate I'll try plug it bk in if not what's my other option or ain't there would tristate to ground work
