Post: Help with 3.55 ps3 hard drive

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey ngu I was wondering if I put a new hard drive in my 3.55 ps3 if I will have to update my ps3 system. Thanks for any advice.

not that i know of just make a backup of the original hard drive and copy it to the new one :P

I'm not sure about a CWF but I'm pretty sure on OFW that it prompts you to install the last firmware that the PS3 had on it... If that's the case with CFW too then just put the 3.55 update on a USB and follow the instructions when prompted to do so... Again I'm not sure because I have never owned a CFW. :(

Alright thanks for the info guys I appreciate it. I'm going to try both of the suggestions. And yeah it sucks I've been stuck in RSOD for a long time since February and no repair guide seems to work. I just hope a new hard drive works. I've tried everything and anything besides this.
