(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So, I am gonna be doing my first jailbreak on a slim ever in a little over a week's time. I am new to both the scene and to NGU, so please if I've posted incorrectly, wrong place, duplicate post, etc, don't bite my head off. Real simple question has probably been answered somewhere, but I don't have the time to sort through the plethora of posts, so I'll just ask. The PS3 I will be downgrading is a 250 GBb cech 200x. My friend has a hdd from a super slim cech 4xxx. Can I swap his 500 Gb hdd into my slim and still have the downgrade work? I know most of the firmware is on the NOR chip, but I also know some of it is on the actual hdd. So if I swap to his super slim hdd, can I still downgrade?

It will work. The HDD gets formatted in the first place, so be sure that you got the correct custom firmware on a usb, to install it then.
