the first thing you gotta do is install some .pkgs files (Homebrew) Try Looking for Ftp, or my fav classic throwback, awesome file manager

You're going to need HomeBrew applications to load up different things such as HDD Games, and FTP Installations, etc. Also, if you're on DEX, you should make sure Target Manager is installed on your Computer but if you're on CEX you should install Control Console API to your PS3 System and Computer so that you can use Modification Tools and such since those are the dominant API's. That's really all you need to know for now. You can learn as you go.
