I'm in need of help regarding PS3 and Call of Duty modding. I have an idea of where to begin, but I am need of more assistance. I am not really tech savvy, but I have know a thing or two.

My son and I played MW3 multiplayer online a couple of days ago and we landed in a match where someone was using mods, like high jumps very fast speed, etc. My son really enjoyed it and I would like to host similar lobbies for him and his friends.

So, here is what I need some assistance on:

The PS3:
I do know that I need a jailbroken PS3. Mine currently is not, but I have checked and it can be jailbroken. I am going to purchase an E3 flasher device tomorrow to apply it to the PS3. I have watched a couple of videos on how to install it on YouTube and it seems fairly easy.

  • What do I do after I installed the E3 flasher? Do I just install custom firmware? I plan on installing PS3ITA 4.50 DEX, as it is apparently better than Rogero firmware for modding.
  • What do have to install to prevent my system from getting banned?
  • Seeing that my current firmware number is 4.60, will I be able to access online play if the CFW I want to install is 4.50?

For MW3:

  • What would I need to start modding MW3? I know I have to have a modding menu but how do I install it/use it?

Misc. questions about jailbreak:

  • Is there something I can download that allows my PS3 to read an NTFS external hard drive? I have a library of very big sized videos on it but the PS3 cannot read it.
  • What are some other things I should install/know about after jailbreaking?

I would really appreciate it if you could answer these questions with clarity and detail as I do not know what to do.

Thank you.

Edit: I would like to add that I am getting the standard E3 Flasher, the one without the eSATA station.
