Post: FFXIV Mod/RTM

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I apologize if this is a redundant, foolish or existing thread, but has anyone tried modding FFXIV: ARR?

I was thinking about getting it and the idea popped into my head.

What I'm not asking: For anyone's opinion on modding online games, this type of game, or how great this game is and why it shouldn't be modded.

Destiny was modded, so some online games can be modded, we established this.

Please don't post if it does not pertain to the question asked.

Thank you.

Maybe the fact that you have to actually buy the game to even run it takes away developers' interests. Modders usually create tools for accessible games. The game is $25, but even still, most people aren't going to buy it, so why both making a tool for it?

The difference here is everything is server sided. There's not a whole lot you could really do. Not sure why you would wanna cheat on a sub based game anyways.

Makes enough sense, very logical answer.

Thanks.

The first thought is always "Everything is server side" until you get create an infinite ammo code along with an infinite super code....

Unless you're telling me you tried it, your answer is just an assumption.

No it's not an assumption it's a fact. You play shitty FPS's that have next to no protection. This is an MMORPG. Not to mention this is cross platform to begin with. You aren't going to be scrubbing the game up that easily.

All online games can be "modded" if you indeed know what you're actually doing. If the game can be downloaded, I don't see a problem looking at it, but as ZombieSlayer said, it would be pointless to even do if one has to buy the game legitly.
