My PS3 (80bg Fat ) keeps freezing on me during gameplay, it freezes in like 3 to 5 minutes tops the minute i start a game and i get the PS3 white matrix glitch.
I tried reinstalling Rebug 4.46.1 REX Edition and it didn't help
I tried the Fan Control Utility and boosted the speed of my PS3' fan and didn't work.
my PS3 is as good as new and used to play my original disc's on it with no problem, also i don't think it's a heating related issue,my ps3 was still cool when it happened the last time , also one more thing i played Sacred 3 for like half an hour and it didn't crush or anything but the minute i guit the game to the XMB my PS3 froze and got the white crap glitch again
any suggestions? switch to another CFW? Rebug LITE? Habbib? Cobra? any fix?

Note: the white glitch thingy started right after i installed CCAPI, but i'm not sure if that was the problem since i haven't tested any game when i first got my PS3 jailbroken.
(I tried and searched every freaking forum for like 4 days now and not one single useful thread or fix.)

Hmm. Try Installing Rogero FW. Then Reset Default Video Settings, then go to Recovery Mode and Reset Defaults.

I was on Rogero 4.55 at first then i switched to Rebug 4.46 REX but still nothing! i spent one and a half an hour playing around with Multiman , installing themes and stuff and was no problem, the minute the start a game well not right away but give it 2 to 5 minute before it freezes on me. and i just tired again right after i powered up the console and crushed in less than 4 minutes during gameplay, and my PS3 wasn't hot at all.

your hard drive might be dieing. try to restore file system and data base, to fix all the ps3 memory files. if that doesn fix it, you might need a new harddrive.or if its not that it could be a heat sink issue. but there's really no way to tell for sure on anything unless you take ur ps3 apart and look.

Well my HDD is brand new (installed 3 days ago ) and i tried the Data base rebuilding thingy countless of times.
and i just bought a Notebook cooler and sat my PS3 on that thing and still froze 3 minutes after i launched the game even though my PS3 was as cold as ice but still froze on me
i've also did some tests and noticed that it only freezes when i do something that consumes and drain the CPU like launching games and syncing trophies, but everything is fine when i'm not doing any of those. so it might be the GPU or CPU if i got that right.

P.s it also froze on me once while i was doing the database rebuilding thingy. and every time this happen' my PS3 refuse to launch (just the Green led on ) and it order to make it relaunch again i have to unplug everything for like 5 minutes and replug again.

Yeah sony puts on really crappy thermal paste, and they dont even put it on correctly. So most of the time its usually the cpu/gpu. Sometimes if you freeze alot while playing a game with a disc in, its a blu-ray laser issue. But thats not what you have if your freezing syncing trophies
