(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I bought a VPN and I'm connected and everything to my ps3, but on MW3 I have either a Moderate or Strict NAT Type. I used to have an Open NAT Type. I have tried forwarding ports but no luck. I got this VPN mainly for being anonymous on my computer and to prevent being DDOS'd on my ps3, but I can't even host. Any ideas on what might help?

P.S Trust me I have Google'd MANY times for stuff. No luck.

Just restart your router.
Should do the trick.

Hmm so the port forwarding method did not work...
Weird cause I have done the port forwarding method for a few customers...never had an issue, how are you trying to forward the ports??you maybe doing something incorrect.
Also another way to open your NAT type on mw3 is by inserting mw2 first, sign in online, your NAT should be open, eject the disk reinsert mw3 now you should be fine with an open NAT type....if this does not work reset your modem first and repeat the process again, this method has also worked for several of my customers.
Hope this helps.

Well for the forwarding of the ports, I go to my routers web page and I choose the ip address of my ps3, then I add a user defined application, and type in the ports and the ranges with it being either TCP or UDP. I have added the PSN ports and also the MW3 ports. I have also tried port forwarding on my VPN's website as they support it.

As for the MW2 method, I signed in, booted up the game, went to multiplayer (NAT type still said Moderate), found a game, left, exited the game, and went to MW3 and still said Moderate. Am I doing something wrong?

Ok so with the mw2 method, after your NAT type was still moderate did you reset your modem ( turn it of for at least 2 mins ) ???
Then repeat the process???
What are the port numbers you are trying to port forward with to your ps3's IP??
If I recall correctly the numbers I used was " 3071/3072 " .

I did not reset my modem after mw2, but I have reset my modem plenty of time with no luck. Also for the port numbers... I used:

TCP Ports: 10040 - 10060
UDP Ports: 50000 - 60000

and for the MW3 ports...

TCP Ports: 3074, 5223
UDP Ports: 3074, 3075, 3478, 3479

I did not try ports 3071 or 3072.

NOTE: My ps3 just got the YLOD this morning so it won''t be until next month until I get a new jailbreak. I will try it out then.

You was supposed to reset your modem first, then proceed to do the mw2 method again,it is extremely important that you reset the modem first then carry out the process.
Well I have just checked my ports and what I done was create a new game application called " Xbox 360 " with port numbers " 3071 and 3072 " then assigned the new game application to my ps3's IP.
Yes it does work,I must have created the port application for work one time for an Xbox 360,but then assigned the game application to my ps3's IP.
I can upload photos if need be.
Ah the ylod,not good mate.
