Do you always turn your PS3 off at the power switch, or force shut it off by holding the power button?

Are you getting black screen when quitting the game which causes you to unplug power lead?

There is no black screen. when i press ok with the x button it goes through with the restore then it restarts the ps3 and i get the same message. Even when i turn the ps3 off and on it gives me the same message.

i had an extra laying around from another ps3 but its now telling me that the "The system software cannot be run correctly. press the ps button to try to restart the system. ( AND I TRIED RESTARTING IT)

if the system cannot be restarted, the system partition of the system storage must be reformatted and you must reinstall the system software.
Connect storage media that contains update data of version 4.46 or later, and then press the START and SELECT buttons at the same time.
and some other stuff ... what should i do

if you switched hard drive then you need to reinstall the same custom firmware as your previous hard drive
