also ive torrented gtav and am wondering how i would go about downloading the game update to play online? would i just download the update regularly like any other game or is there something else you got to do?

Anyway, there is no 100% safety way to mod..there will always be a chance of getting banned.
Most of people use PSN Patch, but i don't think it does much, because i've been modding now for 3-4 months, without PSN Patch, just by getting online and... , modding!
Anyway, you can update the game trough mM ( multiMan ), or just download PKG's from the internet.
