(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello. I can't install a firmware onto my PS3. Either is says that my update data is currupted, or if I put a firmware 4.50 or above, it says "No applicable data found. Connect.... blah blah blah" So yeah. I feel like this is a very unique issue, and if someone could help, that would be awesome. <3

Also, How it happened: I was on 4.50 ITA v2.3 and then I wanted to put in another hard drive, so I took out my original and put in my new 300gb hard drive, and then it says to give a firmware, and I give it 4.50 ita v2.3, and now everytime I put in the 300gb hard drive, it goes to a black screen. However, with my original hard drive, it goes to this page that says "Reboot by pressing the PS button on your controller blah blah blah.... Or connect a usb device that has firmware 2.16 or higher.... blah blah blah..."

So any ideas?? THIS IS A CFW PS3, I WILL NOT PUT AN OFW ON IT. DO NOT SUGGEST OFW

It's correct. But there is this extra mode.... If you hold down the power button, it will turn off the first time. Keep holding it, it will power on, then back off again. it will boot a THIRD time, and apparently it bypasses my broken firmware. let me try that.

The second one is the first one I tried. I just tried the one where after the 2 quick beeps, you keep holding till it turns off. Then, it will turn back on again. turns out, its the same screen ".... the START and SELECT buttons at the same time."

The hard drive has nothing to do with the video until the PS3 has successfully booted. You should get some display even if there is no hard drive installed, or if it is broken. The first thing that you should do is to reset the video settings by holding the power switch on the PS3 case while the PS3 is in standby, until it beeps a few times. If you still don't get any display on HDMI, try connecting the PS3 using the AV cable that came with it, or a PS3 component cable. If that doesn't work either, then the PS3 graphics controller has failed. It happens. This time it just happened to fail during the hard drive format, or the reboot after that. You can't fix that yourself. The other thing that could have happened is that the video may have switched during the format to the multi-out port. Hopefully the PS3 wasn't writing to the flash-ROM when you turned it off.

That says about everything, all i can help. just read it properly. still can't get it to work? your ps3 graphic controller is fucked, time to get it fixed by someone.
I have to go someone where so, yea. Good luck bro. I hope it works. If not there always repair shops.

Btw try
>turn your ps3 off
>hold the power button till it beeps once, not the one that beep which happens right at the push of power button the one after that
> just that one beep
> let your ps3 load up.

Alright bro take care.

I told you lol nothing wrong with how it's set up. the hdd just doesn't get recognized I guess with the new hdd in it. maybe a dumb compatibility issue. Anyway, I got it back up and running. Going to do a complete restore tonight while I'm asleep. It'll be nice to start anew anyway.
