Ok here goes i hada fault with my hard drive in my laptop that was stopping me from booting windows so i thought to myself ill have a change of software and decided to install vista now when i was on windows 7 (installed previous) i was using a friends control console that he made hiself and it always input the console id that i had now im on vista and i use either of the 3 programs v2.50, v2.60, venomzhd control console its not changing my console id. and have to put it in ps3ita manager myself anybody else had this problems and managed to find a fix at all please share below if anybody needs more info just let me know

You need to make sure the CCAPI is compatible with your firmware version. If it's not this may cause this issue to happen. Also make sure you connect/attach properly when in use.

i dont need to connect and attach as im not using a rtm tool, i am just trying to set my console id without me having to do it manually through ita manager also yes ive tried both versions and r both compatible as it worked properly on windows 7 and my ps3 its ever since i changed to vista the problem happened just cant understand it

Installing Vista was your 1st mistake. Depending on the age of your computer it may not work with all your hardware. I am sure M$ can't wait for the day they no longer have to support one of their greatest mistakes. Vista has networking issues of all sorts.

That said has your friend's software worked on any other OS older than Win7? It could simply be in his build options. Try using console connection (not your friends build) and see if that works.

Another option you may want to try is PSN Patch. Once setup you can use it to disable CFW and restore your cID in one step. This is not the same as doing it at boot time but does not require installing CCAPI on your PS3 just to change your cID and is much cleaner than using ita manager just to change it.

thanks man i'll try and roll back to windows 7 and try the whole process again.
