(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay so my brother inlaw has managed to brick his ps3 so I believe. It powers on but there is no hdd activity, sound or picture on the TV but the green power light is constantly lit up. And it freezes the minute i turn it on.

I have a valid bios dump from when I downgraded his console a few months ago. Does anyone have a link to a tutorial on how to unbrick it as I have never done one before or can someone give me a hand on Skype lol.

Thanks in advance..

How you know you bricked it?

Try to reinstall a CFW or change HDD.

If both didn't work then re-flash your ps3.

If it was bricked the console wouldnt turn on, it may just be GLoD which can be fixed by going into recovery mode and reinstalling the firmware he was on, or it may just be faulty video cables, try to exchange cables, switch ports etc.

If you have warranty on the console, I'd recommend just sending it back out to Sony's PlayStation team to get it fixed; unless you have experience with ficing problems yourself and massive troubleshooting help then you could possibly fix it on you own. But as Dakota said, if it's simply GLOD, you can just reinstall your firmware and it will be fine. It's more than likely a simple problem that you're overlooking.

I have tried a new had and it doesn't make any difference.

I cannot enter recovery mode for some strange reason.

The console freezes the minute I turn it on, so there is no way I can reinstall firmware.

And also it has no warranty left on it. Lol its not looking good for him.
I think I will just throw it in the bin lol.

I mean you could just format your HDD to fat32, and that should fix the problem, but that wipes everything so he would have to go back to dex and everything unless hes on ofw

He was on cex.

I don't have a clue how he has managed to screw this one up but he has done it good and proper.
And like I said, I have tried a new hdd that had been formatted to fat32 and it didn't do nothing.

The ps3 crashes the minute I turn it on and I don't have any sound or video signal..
