(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My PS3 is normally 160 GB and I got it jailbroken and starting downloading free games and im running out of space so I need to upgrade, I am about to buy a 500gb HDD and I know how to install it that's easy but im wondering about the steps I will have to take after

After I install the new HDD do I just follow the instuctions on the ps3 and keep going or do I need a usb with my current firmware (4.55 ITA D-REX spoofed) and if I do need the usb tell me STEP by STEP what I need to do

don't leave any holes or missing parts on what to do I want to make sure I get this right

THANK YOU ^_^

I have an external hdd too Smile Get an external hdd and you'll have like 500GB if you buy it with 500gb plus the 160GB from the internal Happy

Swap the new HDD with the old one. Then install the current CFW you have on the ps3 via an USB.
Download the current CFW that is on your PS3 rename it to: PS3UPDAT.PUP if you have to!
Format a usb flashdrive to FAT32
Make folder structure/directory starting at the root of the usb: USB/PS3/UPDATE
Place/move the PS3UPDAT.PUP into the UPDATE folder. USB/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP
Remove any disc in the BD
Plug usb the into the PS3 and install CFW
Now install any spoofer or pkg files need such as Multiman IrisManager etc

If you having any problems with the ps3 not recognizing the new HDD you might have to format it to FAT32 and try again.

cheers

Correct, It will be still jailbroken/hacked even if you install a new HDD and you just need to re-install the current CFW that in currently installed on your PS3.
