Personally I think its hard to downgrade with a e3 flasher due to the fact that you have to open up the ps3. When I thought about downgrading I looked at YouTube videos. I found it helpful but I don't know if you should trust it because it seems like no one on here does

anyways to the OP: for NOR ps3's I will always suggest this video, as it's easy to understand.

There is no reason I can think of to go to 3.55.
Maybe to enter fsm to remarry a bluray drive.

This method doesn't require you to do all that. Just make sure you either leave on the old thermal paste, or replace it.
Removing it without replacing it with surely brick your ps3 eventually.
