Yes, search for a tutorial. Of the ones you will find some of them claim the wrong thing about the QA flag. Make sure that is enabled, some tuts wrongfully tell you to disable it.

As for a recommendation I suggest you install Rebug 4.46.1 and just swap the target ID with its toolbox, if you have not made the files correctly it will let you know and if anything goes wrong you can just reinstall the firmware. I have never heard of bricked console using this method.
