Press PS button to try to restart the system. If the system cannot be restarted you must reinstall the system software. Connect storage media that contains update data of version 3.20 or later, and then press START and SELECT buttons at the same time."

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!
-I've tried restarting my PS3
- I've pressed the start and select button together
Nothing seems to work.

There's no reason to panic
I suppose you are using a CFW .. So all what you have to do is to reinstall your CFW again

Steps :
1- Get a formatted (fat32) flash drive
2- Make this folder structure ( X:\ PS3 \ UPDATE \ PS3UPDAT.pup ) and put your cfw installation pup in it
** X: is the name of your flash drive
** PS3UPDAT.pup is your CFW file
3- Restart your ps3 in recovery mode through these steps :

a. With the PS3 turned off, press and keep holding the power button down until the system turns on and then off again. Release the power button when it's turned off completely.

b. Press and hold the power button again. You will hear one single beep when it turns on, then another single beep after 2 seconds, then finally after some more seconds you'll hear 2 (or 3) consecutive beeps. After these, release the power button.

c. Follow the onscreen instructions and you will be in the recovery menu!

4- Choose "System update" and follow instructions .. Here you go

Do I have to do everything all over again?

Nope don't worry .. You find all your apps , settings , account information and everything just like the last time you logged on your ps3 normally

connect your pad with cable to usb port and run recovery menu

then rebuild database
