Ok, so I am trying to downgrade my ps3 fat with a broken blu ray drive using an e3 flasher and i want to upgrade the hard drive to 120gb so instead of hooking up my 80gb hard drive to the esata station i used a 120gb hard drive. When i turn on my ps3 to start the downgrade process it tells me to update my ps3 to firmware 4.65 or higher by putting the firmware on a usb pressing select and start at the same time. I did just that and it says that its checking for the firmware but it doesnt ever find it and just keeps saying checking. I have it on the usb correct as folder PS3 then inside that UPDATE then the PS3UPDAT.PUP file. Could it not be finding it because i dont have a working blu ray drive? When i take my ps3's top cover off it sounds like my blu ray is trying to work along with the update but idk. Can anyone help me on what may be happening? Thanks
