I want to know Where to find a file for v4.70 for my PS3 so i can jail break it and get my mod's transferred onto the PS3.

I have seen plenty of in game modding from others and none of which are willing to assist me in getting the ps3 jail broken. any help is appreciated!

well its not that easy -
A: you buy a PS3 on 3.55 so you are able to jailbreak it
B: you buy a E3 flasher and do it by yourself

Is your PS3 on 3.55 firmware? If not, you need to first downgrade your PS3 to 3.55, many providers on Ebay will do this for you.

i am not 100% sure what its original version was. all i know at this very moment is that its at 4.70

I have a flash drive and am able to do all of this on my own. i just need the firmware to instal it myself and i have been unsuccessful in finding one that doesn't dick me around the bush. i have skype if anyone is able to send me the file over skype.

So i have obtained the file i thought i needed. But i guess i was wrong. Every time i put the USB drive in the PS3 it does not find any files on the Drive itself. It is in the proper format needed as required for these steps. Yet no luck.

System Info ( Update v4.70 )
Ps3 Slim
Pre Owned from gamestop

USB Drive: ( Main Folder = PS3, "Sub folder" UPDATE )
Inside "UPDATE" i have,

PS3UPDAT.PUP



I've taken too a guess that i may need to "Downgrade" To v3.55 for things work?
But if i do not need to do so then i'm not going to

Yes that guy was obviously trolling, to install any CFW(custom firmware), you first need to be on 3.55OFW(official firmware), but it's not easy to get to this firmware, firstly you need to check if your ps3 is downgradable, (check the ps3 sub-forum for more info)and if it is, you can either purchase a flasher and solder that onto your ps3's motherboard, or pay someone else to do it for you, obviously there's a lot more to it then this, but you can search for it on google or look in the ps3 section, hope I helped

But i am not quite sure what you mean by flasher. Assuming it being some sort of hardware Considering you are talking soldering to the mobo.
