I know CFW's will eventually get banned, but what is the best method and ways to lower the risk of getting banned? And please explain why you would use that? (Just a brief explanation just to give me a reason, plus i'm new to this community so excuse my knowledge)

If we are talking about a PSN ban, then just don't use homebrew while signed in. Sony is able to see what applications you go into and if you are loading backups. Eventually, they'll catch up to you and ban you. I know because it's happened to me before. Also, use Ps Ninja before signing in. As far as game bans, it all depends on the game. It's always different depending which.
