What firmware is it on? If its 3.65+ you'll need to buy yourself a E3 Flasher.

It's on the latest version! But when I bought it it was on 3.55 fw then someone updated it!

wow if it still would be on 3.55 then you could just easily jailbreak your ps3.. but since its on 4.70 you have to get an E3 flasher - or you just buy a 3.55 ps3 from ebay or so..

Yep if it was still 3.55 all you'd need to do is download a file from the internet put it on a USB and boom, but you need a E3 flasher from Amazon/Ebay

DEX is better if you decide on having a wired connection as it is much faster compared to CEX. Also, DEX pretty much can do anything a CEX can do plus some added features so I don't see why you shouldn't go to DEX if you can :P

Dex is the best, but if you don't know much about CFW I recommend to stay on CEX
