Updating the game has no harm, as long as it's not requiring you to update the PS3.

I got the same problem. I am soon getting a jailbroken ps3 on Ferrox 4.70 CFW. Where do I find the update for BO2 so I can update it via Multiman?

Just go in multiman and press triangle on the game...

Just run BO2 and install the update: it is the update of the game, not of the PS3 so it doesn't matter.

Theoretically if you install the update from the XMB you could be banned... From multiman is safer
But I've always done that from xmb
