Your HDD might be corrupted Try restoring file system or database, if that doesn't work it may have to be formatted, and if that don't work maybe a new hard drive will work.

You may have to format meaning delete the whole hard drive.

Yes you will still be jaibroken, but have you tried Rebuilding the file system and database in Recovery mode then try to install your cfw? also you can format the harddrive in the recovery menu.

I try, but it gets to Preparing and stays there for ever, been letting it try to repair for bout 45 min now

this is not so easy fix im afraid.

what you need to do it put the ps3 into factory service mode using dongle/jig

then you need to use a lv2diag.self file to wipe the flash regions. then you need to reinstall the firmware.

if you need help with the files then i will, but the fsm dongle/jig you are going to need to make or get.

-btw did you mess with vsh.self?
