I've been a member for awhile, just haven't signed into this forums until 3 days ago.

Now I have always wanted to jail break my ps3 or use CFW or whatever it's called, and see that's the problem.

I have searched around and there is so many things to grasp, however my actual question is... for the jail breaking process, is it really as easy as making a PS3/UPDATE structure on a usb and installing the update from the recovery menu?

I've done a little research I'm not hard core yet but can someone point me in the right direction for a first time user, I've done Xbox 360 save modding for years, but never hardware stuff.

I see all the crazy sweet stuff you can do with a jail broken ps3 like getting free games and modding saves practically everything you would want as a gamer and well it's time i join the fun.

Sorry if I posted this is the wrong section though I believe it's correct? Anyway please let me know if you answer,

EDIT - NVM the version i'm on is 4.66... so that's a kick in the nuts... is there anything else I can still do like do that trophy method like save sets and rehashing game saves to my profile obviously is longer but same concept when compared to that load and synchronize method?

if your ps3 is on 3.55 or less = easy.. over 3.55 a little harder.

leave it on 4.66 you can still grab the IDPS of the console off it, not patched yet.

So you can use this to install certain DLC PSN games and hack the save games.

OBTAIN YOUR IDPS WHILE YOU CAN.

I'll not update it until I exhausted most options, so this IDPS it's your console ID pretty much from what I've looked up. So with this what can you do? not as much as CFW obviously but you say you can get DLC, PSN games and mod/hack save games... sounds like a dream.

With the IDPS it allows you to inject into the protected portion of the backups and modify the save games.
