Are you updating from recovery menu?
Do you have a disk in the disk drive?
If not just power down your ps3 and depending what firmware your trying to install it will just resume as normal. But please read up on if this is ok to do with the cfw your installing because i know rebug downgrader allows you to do this.

i forrmated my ps3 hdd in pc to fat32 and put again in ps3 ,and a window appear says press START and SELECT in the same time !!
