(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi there NGU,

I'm wondering if anyone out there can give me either a basic or a comprehensive list of compatible External HDD that will work for formatting into FAT32 format for PS3 in order that i may put games on it, and play them from the external HDD.......Any insight would be most welcome. Hopefully trying to purchase an external today if possible. Thanks.

Go on amazon search 1TB PS3 HDD, read the reviews to make sure it's for the PS3. Smile

I'm mostly wondering about specific brands. I've been told that drives like the 2tb my passport Ultra will not work even if it is formatted into FAT32. Has anyone ever heard of something like this occurring before, with this model or any other model hard drive?

2TB glitches quite alot. Best choice would be a 1TB.

So if I were to get a 1 tb say, a wd passport Ultra would that work fine? Or should I seek out another brand or model?

I use an 2TB external hard drive no problem. You'll need a program to format it to fat32 but it's a free program. Any 2tb external would work but I use a Toshiba, I'll see if I can't find the link.

Also any external hard drive over 32 GB you'll need a program to format it to fat32, computers just don't read them as fit for fat32 as it's mostly used for small flash devices, but that's y you'll need a program to format it.

You don't need any sort of special external device for the ps3. Literally just buy a cheap one. (I got a 1TB one for like 52 dollars from Western Digital) Anyhow, it just needs to be formatted to FAT32 when you get it. :p

You don't need any sort of special program to format to FAT32. I literally do it all the time with my 1TB external. :p Considering I switch it back and forth between HFS+ and FAT32 because you can't write files over like what is it? 5 gigs? To a device with FAT32.
