(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok, guys so in the world of DEX vs CEX, I will admit I am a bit of a DEX noob. I have used CEX for quite a while now without any major issues that I wasn't able to figure out. I recently picked up another PS3 CECH-2001A and swapped the HDD to a 250 gb. The system still had the factory warranty sticker on it so it had never been opened. It also had NEVER been online up until I installed the HDD, and installed OFW 4.70. I at this point used my testing account and got on PSN(system was still on OFW at this point).

I at this point, I jailbroke it and had it on Rogero 3.55 downgrader. I then followed a tut and installed Kmeaw 3.55, and then went to Rebug 4.70.1 REX. Once I was on Rebug, I installed the Rebug toolbox and followed the tut to convert to DEX. So once I was now on DEX, I decided to get everything set up to go online. Installed CCAPI and some other programs as well.

Once I was all set up, I turned my network settings on and set up the internet connections. Tried to connect to CCAPI, and no matter how many times I uninstalled/reinstalled CCAPI, It would not connect. Also upon loading the PS3 from the get go where you normally have the CCAPi icon pop up, it pops up instead with a message that says CCAPI cannot be loaded, and gives an error code. Weird thing is, it's the same exact CCAPI I use for my 4.70 Habib CEX PS3 and it works just fine on that machine.

But the real surprise was when I tried to sign into PSN. Keep in mind, the ONLY time this machine had ever been online up until this point, was when I installed the 4.70 OFW to test the system. After that it had no internet connection up until I tried to sign into PSN after converting to DEX. When I did this, I got some kind of PSN error code(I apologize I don't have the exact error code) that when I researched, it pretty much comes down the the console ID is incorrect. How is this even possible as this thing has never been online on CFW? Is this something that happens when converting to DEX?

I read elsewhere that this can happen sometimes when changing to certain CFW's. I was told all I have to do is re set my CID using CCAPI. To my knowledge I shouldn't have to do this unless my original CID is banned and I am using a Private CID or public CID. And on the same note, how can I fix this if my CCAPI doesn't want to work for some reason? Also, has anyone ever heard of this happening before? All I did was the DEX conversion, and now the system can't get online, and CCAPI doesn't want to work properly...At a loss... :(

And i really like the idea of just using Multiman as a FTP. I think I'm gonna do it this way as I'm already familiar with Multiman. Just use Multiman to FTP, and use Webman to load/play games. Thanks bro!

Excellent, but just to point out that entering the idps once in webman will spoof at startup from then on, like i said no need for ccapi to do it.

dont forget triangle+R2 to remove history + disable system calls prior to going online.

Hmm, didnt know you could change boot idps in webman. I knew you could spoof it, but I didnt know you can change boot idps from webman as well. Doesnt PS Ninja suffice before going online? That's what I used religiously to avoid console/CID ban on my CEX machine...

PS Ninja does nothing to stop you from ban any more than what you are already doing. Might even get you banned if you have it.
