(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok, guys so in the world of DEX vs CEX, I will admit I am a bit of a DEX noob. I have used CEX for quite a while now without any major issues that I wasn't able to figure out. I recently picked up another PS3 CECH-2001A and swapped the HDD to a 250 gb. The system still had the factory warranty sticker on it so it had never been opened. It also had NEVER been online up until I installed the HDD, and installed OFW 4.70. I at this point used my testing account and got on PSN(system was still on OFW at this point).

I at this point, I jailbroke it and had it on Rogero 3.55 downgrader. I then followed a tut and installed Kmeaw 3.55, and then went to Rebug 4.70.1 REX. Once I was on Rebug, I installed the Rebug toolbox and followed the tut to convert to DEX. So once I was now on DEX, I decided to get everything set up to go online. Installed CCAPI and some other programs as well.

Once I was all set up, I turned my network settings on and set up the internet connections. Tried to connect to CCAPI, and no matter how many times I uninstalled/reinstalled CCAPI, It would not connect. Also upon loading the PS3 from the get go where you normally have the CCAPi icon pop up, it pops up instead with a message that says CCAPI cannot be loaded, and gives an error code. Weird thing is, it's the same exact CCAPI I use for my 4.70 Habib CEX PS3 and it works just fine on that machine.

But the real surprise was when I tried to sign into PSN. Keep in mind, the ONLY time this machine had ever been online up until this point, was when I installed the 4.70 OFW to test the system. After that it had no internet connection up until I tried to sign into PSN after converting to DEX. When I did this, I got some kind of PSN error code(I apologize I don't have the exact error code) that when I researched, it pretty much comes down the the console ID is incorrect. How is this even possible as this thing has never been online on CFW? Is this something that happens when converting to DEX?

I read elsewhere that this can happen sometimes when changing to certain CFW's. I was told all I have to do is re set my CID using CCAPI. To my knowledge I shouldn't have to do this unless my original CID is banned and I am using a Private CID or public CID. And on the same note, how can I fix this if my CCAPI doesn't want to work for some reason? Also, has anyone ever heard of this happening before? All I did was the DEX conversion, and now the system can't get online, and CCAPI doesn't want to work properly...At a loss... :(

go into webman setup

and spoof the idps to your original one

have a look here and understand the format of idps IDPS - You must login or register to view this content.

you have the target id part changed to 82 now, which is dex.

you need to change that back to the original by entering the full idps into webman setup with the original target id

eg

00 00 00 01 00 82 00 0B 14 00 EF DD CA 25 52 66

back to

00 00 00 01 00 89 00 0B 14 00 EF DD CA 25 52 66

82 DEX Debug
83 Japan
84 USA
85 Europe
86 Korea
87 United Kingdom
88 Mexico
89 Australia/New Zealand
8A South Asia
8B Taiwan
8C Russia
8D China
8E Hong Kong
8F Brazil

Ah, OK I see, so when changing to DEX, it changed part of the IDPS, which all I should have to do is find my original one(assuming I can find that in my dumps) change it back, and I should be good right? Also, any ideas on the CCAPI thing? Like I said, it works fine on my 4.70 Habib CEX system, but gives me an error on the PS3 when I try to use it in rebug.

The current idps is viewable in webman setup. Just change the target id part back to whatever you think it should have been, depends on where the ps3 was originally sold.

You are on dex now you should using tmapi instead, that's the whole point of being on dex.

Yeah, definetly trying to use tmapi. I guess what I meant was, that the application control console api itself wont connect. When you first start the console up, the control console api icon should pop up. Instead, an icon pops up, but it says control console api cant connect, and gives an error code. Based on what you already said about the region portion of the idps, I think that is ultimatly going to be the root problem of the ccapi issue as well, as ccapi needs to be able to connect to the idps to work. I'm not going to be able to try to fix this for a couple days, but I do really appreciate your help and hopefully I'll get it working.

ccapi wont have a problem even if the idps in lv2 memory doesnt even meet the format required.

this is something else, try using ccapi 2.60rev4 i believe is the one for 4.70

Yup, that problem is fixed. So I got it up and running on PSN, got the boot idps set, but now I have an entirely different problem. Multiman is being a bitch. Again, same multiman I use for my 4.70 CEX machine, which works fine.

Problem, is that I saved a game from my external HDD to my internal HDD. No problems there. But when I try to launch the game, it doesn't work correctly. If I try to create a blue ray image and play from the HDD alone, it will not work. Once under the game options, and try to load it via blue ray mirror image, it will go back to the XMB like it normally should, but instead of the disk icon changing to the current game selected, it remains whatever disk is in the drive.

I also tried to direct boot the game(without modifying any EBOOTS or game files or anything, and it goes to a black screen. not sure if this is due to the lack of a debug eboot(although I don't think it is because I thought a debug eboot was only required when using target manager to mod the game). But either way, even if it direct boots with a proper eboot, it still wont blue ray mirror the game and allow me to play it from backup.....not sure at this point. Multiman is the most current up to date version. Hoping my blue ray drive isn't shot, but don't think it is as I can play games from disk no problems...

You need to use webman.
