All u need to do is format your PS3 hard drive using your pc using Sata to usb and format to ntfs and put the hdd back in it will ask u to insert a media storage device with any firmware 2.00< ... Have anyone of you tried this? Or did I just become a legend lol

There is no other way but through downgrading to 3.55 using E3 unless already on that FW or lower. When you format the HDD everything is wiped except for the FW, so you'd still be on OFW.

Your firmware is partially stored in your nand/nor chip i believe, so no you did not become a legend sorry chief!

there is another chip on the board that is responsible for this.. is called the sys con.

it stores console specific keys and minimum firmware possible etc.

what would happen if you did what you suggested is pretty simple, it would still ask for the firmware above the last version installed.

Ill give you for the effort. but the thing is .Give up . Expirenced modders have looked into this and there no way. there Was a way from 3.56 or whatever but it was never given out no one knows how. but I have heard theres a way .
