2. You need a usb formatted to fat-32.
3. In the root of your usb create a folder call PS3, inside that folder create another folder call UPDATE, inside the update folder is where you put your PS3UPDAT.PUP which will be the 3.55 firmware that you download earlier.
4. After updating to ofw 3.55, you can pretty much choose to go to any cex cfw you want such as Rogero, Rebug or Habib.
5. If you decide to update to a cfw lower than 4.70 then you will need a spoofer to spoofer your console to 4.70 so you can go online.
6. There is not really a jailbreak process in my opinion because all you are doing is putting on a custom firmware on your ps3 and thus "jailbreaking it".
7. Some homebrews to get you start are ps ninja and psnpatch to stay safe, multiman for file manager, ccapi 2.60 to rtm. And SEN Enabler if you are on a cfw lower than 4.70. You can download all these homebew on this site: You must login or register to view this content.

Then you didn't put the name of the folders in all caps, right order, or named the update file correctly, or format your flash drive to FAT32.
