As long as it 4500-6500 rpm then it will be fine. I find an external hdd to work best for back ups if that's what your wanting it for

yes boy..1tb is the max safe size that is supported by ps3..also y u upgrading second time in a row ? if i remember..just a few weeks back u upgraded ur hard drive to 500gigs right ?
