I currently have a CFW Slim PS3, and I noticed that some PS2 games don't run as properly as I want it to. Notably Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of Legendia. I heard that on the 60 GB machine, there are 0 glitches or bugs that occur in these game due to the native Emotion engine implemented in the build.

So back to my question, will a Cobra CFW emulate the backed up ISO or will the ISO be played using the built in hardware? Thanks.

I'm aware that Cobra can run backups, I have a CFW PS3. My question is will getting a 60 GB backwards-compatible PS3 increase the compatibility of PS2 games even if they are played as an iso? Cobra uses software emulation to run games, whilst retail games play through the hardware. I was wondering if Cobra will recognize the hardware, and play the ISOs using the Emotion Engine built into the machine. I don't wanna purchase this console if it's gonna be the exact same thing as my Slim on CFW. I'm looking for full compatibility of PS2 games.
