Reballing it.
Since it still works I wouldn't wanna try Reflowing. What you can do for now is replace the thermal paste and if you're on cfw turn up the fan speed via webman or a fan control homebrew.

Are u sure it is not something to do with the temperature of the PS3. I reckon that your ps3 can not handle games because it is getting to hot. I recommend getting it repaired. If i am wrong you need to tell us more like what happens when it goes off. please quote back to me.

When a PS3 overheats it flashes yellow, i recommend to get it repaired from the seller you got it from.

A yellow light is an indication of a hardware failure not always an overheat problem. The heat pad has probably slipped off the ram chip. If it was a problem related to heat the ps3 would switch off and blink red as the blinking red is a sure fire sign that there is a problem with the rsx and cell chip as that only blinks when there is a problem with these chips Smile.

A yellow light can also occur when the ps3 is over 85 degrees. I have had it and my ps3 turns off.

Yes i know i was just saying that he could have a problem with something else other than overheating (i think the pad has slipped of the ram chip) as he can still use the ps3 for other things.
