How easy is it to get a new CID, and what do I need to do to install it and go back online?

Can you get free CIDs online, or is it better to buy them?

Oh yeah, and about the flasher, I think I read that you need a flasher to get a CID from an OFW PS3, is that true?

I once saw a video of someone just putting in a CID # on a home brew app(I think)...at least I think that's what I saw.

Console ID's are NOT aloud on NGU.. All I can tell you is you can there are many sites that give out Public ID's for free and many vendors that sell them. Be careful there are lots of scammers. You can set CID's through Control Console. Yes, with an e3 flasher you can extract the flash from an ofw and take the cid, the down side is the PS3 must be compatible with the flasher.

All i can say is that you can get cid from your ofw using a proxy with cmd but the ps3 version has to be 4.66 or lower. As the above user said You set cid's using Control Console API or you can either use a homebrew on you ps3. Or you can get your ofw cid with a e3 flasher if it is above version 4.66.

Please keep in mine console id's are not allowed on ngu.
