Post: New to the Jailbreak scene
08-06-2015, 12:55 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I just recently purchased a jailbroken PS3 for $100. It's on 3.55 and all I want to be able to do is go on mw2 and have a mod menu, tired of the cfg crap.

Where do I go from here?
What is a spoofer, eboot?
Is it a problem that I only have macs and no pc's?
I have another PS3 on the latest ofw that I always play on. In what case would a data transfer be a good option? What is it used for?

Please forgive me, I'm trying to learn, I just need someone's help with pretty much the whole process

Well, first, you need to jailbreak that PS3. Look up on google 3.55 Kmeaw CFW. You will find some downloads. Download them and put it on a USB or any storage media. Rename it PS3UPDAT.PUP. Go on the PS3 and go to System Update and then press via Storage Media. You should see it say 3.55 Kmeaw or something close to that. Update. Now you are jailbroken. Now what you need to do is to go to a higher CFW to be able to play online. I would suggest either 4.65.2 Rebug REX or 4.70.1 Rebug REX. Just head over to the Rebug website and find one of their 4.65+ REX Updates. Just update normally to that. Next, you would need a spoofer. One of the best working spoofers with no troubles for me is Arch's 1.16 4.75 Spoofer. You can find a thread on NGU or you can find it on google. Just put the .pkg file in the root of the USB (no folders). From there, go over to the PS3, if you are on Rebug, you will see Package Manager. Click that and then press Install Package Files and click on the third one. You should see the package in the USB and install that. After it installs, you will see it on the XMB in the game tab and from there, just run it and then install the first option. You will have this forever. The only way to get rid of this is if you delete the pkg from the XMB menu. To get a game, just insert the CD in and open multiMan. That brings me to another popular package called multiMan. It allows you to view the root of your PS3 and also to load games. You can find this pretty much anywhere. Install this one too and run it. In Multiman, accept the terms of service. Then, you will be on the game tab and then you will see the game of MW2 or any game you want to back up. Press triangle and press copy. That's it. It might take some time to copy depending on how big the game is. If it randomly aborts by itself, it means the disc is not clean and needs cleaning. So make sure you clean the CD. After that, you must have any CD in the PS3 for it to be able to load. Make sure that the CD you have in the PS3 is clean and working. Put it in the PS3 and then load multiman. Hover over MW2 and then press X. It will trick the PS3 into thinking that CD you put in the PS3 is Mw2. Just run Mw2 and then you can use RTM Tools to mod. That brings me to connecting the PS3 and using RTM tools. If you are a beginner, I would recommend CCAPI as TMAPI takes some time to setup. You can find CCAPI on NGU as well. Just look up CCAPI Rev 5. You will be listed with a .RAR File. It will have a PS3 folder and a PC. For the PS3, copy the .pkg file to the PS3 and then run it on the PS3. It will ask you to install and then the PS3 will reboot. That's it. Go to the PC Folder and then install it on PC. After that, you will want to go on your PS3, go to settings, system settings, and scroll down to About PS3. It will show you an IP Address. Remember that IP Address. Open Control Console API on the PC and press File, Add a new console, you can name it anything. For the IP, type that IP you saw in about PS3. Then you can just exit out of CCAPI on your PC. Next, just look up some RTM Tools and you can connect with CCAPI, then press attach, and you can do name changers, stat tools, etc. If you have any questions, feel free to quote me Smile

EBOOTs are for non host mods such as constant UAV/VSAT, red boxes, etc. You will be fine without an EBOOT. To put an EBOOT, download a program called FileZilla. Once installed, open it. At the top, you will see it say Host: Username: Password Just input for the host the IP that you pulled from System Information. Then press Connect or the button there I don't remember what it is called. Make sure you are in Rebug Toolbox or Multiman for FTP to be active. From there, double click the folder called dev_hdd0. Then go to game. Then find the BLES/BLUS code for that game. Open that folder. Then go to USRDIR. You will see an EBOOT.BIN. Drag an EBOOT that is for CEX and it is compatible with your region code in there and press overwrite. It should take about a minute or so. After that, just exit FileZilla and then exit out of MM or Rebug Toolbox and you will be all set. MW2 doesn't need an eboot change though :p Just teaching you how to change an EBOOT just in case. Quote me if you have anymore questions Smile
