A224 means you have an invalid CID, this happens to me everytime I start up my PS3 on Rebug when I'm on DEX (it's not a lot of work, but it is an extra step) if I don't do the following. What you can do is install the IRISMan .pkg (if you don't already have it installed), then go to "Global Options [start button I believe] -> Tools -> Spoof Console ID -> Restore Default Console ID" (that is if you're using your original CID). That should fix A224. A227 is the code you want to look out for, that's a ban code. Do this step first, then do whatever else you use (for me that's psn patch -> disable cfw, psninja -> clear histories). Do this every time the PS3 is restarted.

Note: IRISMan will not work properly if you disable CFW as the "Restore Default Console ID" uses a system call. Make sure you do the IRISMan step first before disabling syscalls. Another note; if you have a disc mounted when you restore the console ID through IRISMan, the disc won't appear in the XMB when you exit. To fix this just eject your disc and put it back in, I typically eject the disc before going into IRISMan anyway.

This is my way of doing it and I'm sharing it encase you find it helpful, it's definitely not the only way to do it, but I've been using this method without error.
