Use a network cable, one end in your PC and the other in your PS3. Get that to work before messing with anything else.

Once you have that working then choose how you want set it up, duel or single connections. I use duel, that way I just leave the cable in place and set up my computer to connect to the internet seperate from the PS3 connection and the PS3 uses a wireless connection to the internet.
